Choosing Trim for the Ceiling and Wall Corners

I’ve been struggling to decide on the trim for our ceiling and wall corners—it’s one of those small but important details! To help, Jānis brought in three different trims and placed them in the room so I could see how they look in person. It’s really helpful to visualize them in the space, and now I can better judge which one feels right for our home.

It’s been an enjoyable process, and although I’m still in the decision-making stage, I appreciate the chance to take my time and perfect this detail to suit me just right!

Which do you prefer: option A, with more focus on the wall and less on the ceiling, or option B, where the design is balanced evenly on both the wall and ceiling? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

  1. I would go for option A. This trim looks quite sober and I would prefer to focus on the wall. Option B seems to attracts too much your attention.

    1. Thank you for your thoughts! I agree—B does have a more formal feel, and you’re probably right about it being trickier to install. A’s casual vibe matches our everyday style, but I do love how trim at the ceiling can elevate the space. Decisions, decisions! 😊

  2. Most of our base and crown molding is simple. It coordinates with the trims of our China cabinet, curio, and kitchen cabinet trims. It’s good to take your time to choose, Ilze.

    1. Thank you for sharing! Simple trims can be so elegant, especially when they tie everything together like yours do. I agree—it’s worth taking the time to choose something that complements the space and feels cohesive. 😊

    1. Thank you! Simple lines are always a great choice—they have such a timeless elegance. I’ll keep that in mind while deciding!
