Another Trip to Riga – Second Dentist Visit Done!

Yesterday, I got back from my second trip to the dentist in Riga. Two visits down, two more to go! This time, she removed the nerve, and next time, she’ll widen the canals before finally filling and sealing everything for good.

Surprisingly, it wasn’t painful, which is a huge relief. But the real challenge? The six-hour round trip. Three hours one way just for a dental appointment feels like an endurance test of its own. Thanks to Jānis, who is so nice and drove me there for the secound time! At least I can say I’m making progress, and hopefully, once it’s all done, I won’t have to think about this tooth again for a long time!

I think I need time to rest—these trips are exhausting. The next one is next tuesday!

  1. Wow, six hours is a long ride, Ilze, but you get to spend that time with your best friend, right! I’ve had root canals, they are so awful, the doctor numbs the heck out of my jaw and when I go home it’s difficult to talk. Maybe that’s a good thing, eh? 😂

    1. Yeah, six hours is definitely a long ride, but having good company makes it way better! 😊 The numbing part is the worst—half my face felt like it didn’t belong to me! 😂 At least it’s an excuse to take it easy and not have to talk too much. How many root canals have you had? This one is killing me already 🙂

    1. I guess I can handle this kind of pain! 😊 My dentist told me that all four times she worked on my teeth before, I didn’t even need local anesthesia. I just said, “Let’s try without!” 😅 But this time, it was more serious business—so half of my face ended up completely numb! 😆

    1. Yeah, it’s definitely not fun! 😅 A long trip on top of it just makes it more exhausting. But at least I’m getting it done—no more nagging tooth pain (hopefully)! Do you have a dentist nearby, or do you have to travel too?
