April Goals & Intentions

March passed quickly, and while I didn’t have official goals, plenty still happened! Now that April is here, it’s time to focus on what’s ahead. Spring is in full swing, which means more outdoor work, gardening, and home projects. Here’s what I’m aiming for this month:

Home & Renovation

  • Finalize the last details in the living room (decor, small fixes, etc.).
  • Start planning the next renovation project—what’s next on the list?
  • Spring cleaning! Declutter, organize, and refresh the house.

Gardening & Outdoor Work

  • Begin planting outdoors: peas and radishes on April 10!
  • Prepare raised beds: paint them, find the place, plan the garden layout and fill them.
  • Set up the greenhouse.
  • Replant the strawberries.

Family & Everyday Life

  • Find a better balance between work, home, and personal time.
  • Enjoy more time outside with the family as the weather warms up.
  • Capture small, meaningful moments—no need for big adventures to make memories.

Personal Goals

  • Keep up with journaling and planning.
  • Balanced food.
  • Prioritize rest—sleep, relaxation, and self-care.
  • Stay mindful of health—eat better, move more, and make time for myself.

Looking Ahead
April is all about embracing spring, making progress on the house, and enjoying the little moments. Let’s see how much we can accomplish this month!

What are your goals for April?

  1. I love your blogs! Your English is absolutely perfect – is it your first language? I have no Latvian at all, about three words of Romanian, and I do speak French, Italian and Spanish, so I have an interest in languages. Your life is so interesting, and your family look delightful. Your house is beautiful. And you are clearly a crafter as well!

    1. “Thank you so much! That truly means a lot. English isn’t my first language—Latvian is—but I’ve used English for years, so it feels quite natural to me. I use Grammarly to help me with grammar if needed. Also, WP is autocorrecting me. Your love for languages is wonderful! I wish I knew more than just bits and pieces of other languages. And yes, I do enjoy crafting and DIY projects, especially with our house renovation—it’s been quite a journey! Thank you again for your kind words! What kind of crafts or creative projects do you enjoy?

  2. Springtime is a great time for cleaning and decluttering, aligning with the season’s symbolism of new beginnings and fresh starts, and the longer daylight hours make it easier to tackle projects. Happy April Fools Day – it’s that time of the year when pranks, laughter and lighthearted mischief take centre stage! Thanks for sharing, and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

    1. So true! There’s something about spring that makes me want to clear out the old and make space for something fresh. The extra daylight definitely helps with motivation! Wishing you a wonderful April full of joy (and maybe a few harmless pranks 😉). Do you have any favorite spring traditions?

  3. So good to see someone with a plan. Two days ago I didn’t have a plan other than to keep taking each day as it comes. Today I got a notice from the Real Estate agent that the owner wants to sell my unit so I have until August to get rid of clutter and surplus furniture and find another unit. Si I will move from Ballarat back to Melbourne to be closer to family.

    1. That’s a big change ahead, but it sounds like you’re already taking steps to make the transition smoother. Moving closer to family can be a wonderful thing, even if the process feels overwhelming at first. Wishing you strength and clarity as you sort through everything—one step at a time!
