I started my day with a watercolor doodle. This time I decided to try drawing an amanita mushroom – such a classic forest symbol of autumn. It was fun to play with the bright red cap and little white dots.

Later in the day, I didn’t really feel like going out, but we were invited to our friend Džeina’s garden party. While I was washing my hair, the girls and Jānis made the pastry, and I put together a little snack basket for the gathering. Of course, one of the courgettes from my garden came with us too – can’t go anywhere without sharing the garden’s bounty!

After the party, when we got home, I ended the evening by drawing a sunset. It felt like such a perfect way to close the day – a moment of calm, just me, the paints, and the fading colors of the sky.

I also realized I want to learn how to draw grass properly and, most of all, how to mix every shade of green. That’s still a big struggle for me, and I’d love to get better at it.

Am smiling about your lovely amanita mushroom drawing – they are called ‘karbseseened’ or ‘fly mushrooms’ in Estonia and are the first things children are taught not to pick – too poisonous 🙂 ! And, I think you have done well with your grass colour and the way you have drawn it . . .

Thank you! The grass color is a huge “problem”, I can’t mix it as I want… but I think I need to practice mixing and checking the color theory to master it 🙂
