The raised beds are ready.
Weeded, mulched, and quietly waiting — just like me. Now it’s that in-between time where everything looks prepared, but not much is happening yet. The sun teases a little, but I know better. The last frost here usually lingers until late May, and anything not frost-tolerant still has to wait.

I can feel the impatience creeping in. I want to plant everything now.
But there’s still time for small things — like sowing a few flowers indoors, giving them a head start before they move outside. A gentle reminder that the season has already begun, even if it doesn’t look like it yet.
And for now, that’s enough.

Congratulations on a tremendous amount of work beautifully done and ready for the next stage – be patient, the soil will warm and the sun smile and you will enjoy the results of your labour 🙂 !

Thank you, Eha! Patient is something I cannot do.. I planted small bak-choi seedlings.. perhaps too close together, but… I can eat the ones that takes up the space 🙂

Our weather is still going up and down. It was warm and humid today but will be chilly by the weekend. We’ve also had more rain than usual.

Oh, today we have rainy day! And it’s not that warm 😦 But I did what I have to do in the garden to prep the beds, so – all good 🙂

Thank you! Means a lot coming from you! I know I’m just starting, but prep is important before last frost date 🙂 and “real season” 🙂

Greetings from Minnesota! We too are waiting, waiting for those full buds on the trees to burst and for the birds to return. But my garden is a shambles compared to yours! Backyard Biology Sue.

Thank you! BUT that is ALL my garden 🙂 I’m just starting. I want “shamble” (I had to google to find out the meaning), the limit is my heavy clay soil…

My mom (who was born in 1904) used a lot of old-fashioned words in her descriptions of things. I think “shambles” is probably what she used to describe my bedroom. But how did that word go from the Olde English meaning of a meat market to meaning a state of confusion and chaos?! Language is so interesting.
I look forward to seeing how your garden grows this summer.
