Blueberry dessert with quark cream
Blueberry dessert is a quick and easy recipe that is an absolute winner in our house since the wild blueberries are in the season! I call it healthy: blueberries itself is nutritious and quark cream is less in fat and calories than whip cream. Berries with whipped cream were my childhoods favorite dessert. We never thought of adding a quark to make it healthier.
You can make this dessert using ricotta instead of quark.
Blueberry dessert with quark cream
Better than berries with whip cream 🙂
Ingredients
- 400 grams quark or ricotta cheese
- 250 ml cream for whipping
- 2 tbsp sugar add more if you like sweet
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 cups wild blueberries
Instructions
- 1.Place the sugar into the mixing bowl and add the whipping cream. Whisk just until the cream reaches stiff peaks.
- Add quark or ricotta and vanilla. Slowly mix until just combined. Put in fridge.
- Divide berries into between 6 dessert bowls and top with quark cream right before serving.

Good, Suz!
I have fresh blueberries growing in my yard. I like your idea of adding ricotta cheese to the whipped cream. Thanks for the recipe! 😃
Sometimes we switch from quark to ricotta and back to change this cream a little 🙂 It’s our favorite dessert.
I can certainly understand why this dessert is such a favourite with your family. Looks yummy.
Easy to make too! 🙂
[…] It’s blueberry season here in Latvia and we’ve been eating loads of wild blueberries! We add blueberries to smoothies or eat them with quark/ricotta and whipped cream. […]

Hi Ilze. I love your recipes. The blueberries are in season here too. I also have a technical question that I hope you don’t mind me asking. How are you formatting your recipes so that they can be printed separately?
I don’t mind! Love this built in WordPress notation [recipe]… There are few included things in it. And the “Print” is one of them!
