All three my girls are different. They have a different character, different attitude, and completely different wishes! All I wish is them be happy in the life! It’s easy to lose your “true self” at school, college and work. I’m still looking for myself right now! And I’m almost 35!!! I’m not afraid of that number 35! I’m afraid of not being me a day longer!
But this won’t be about me! I will inform you when I’m turning 35 and I will write a blog post about me as well!
But now about my two oldest girls. Wishes. Linna wished (even cried at night) to be with here grandmother Mārīte (my mom!). So a few weeks ago Linna was delivered to Salacgriva to live with grandma Marīte for the whole week!!! Walks, talks, favorite food, and deserts, sea, and river. Nature!
Also, Nelle have wishes and she wished to stay in a city (we are living on countryside) with Viola…. but that isn’t possible cause Viola lives in Berlin. So she stayed with Viola’s mother – Sandra in Riga for two days. The capital of Latvia. Nelle enjoyed city lights, crowds, and shops! Cosmetic and dogy named Monijs! She really loves dogs and cats!
It’s interesting for me to see how different they are. At the end, they both were happy! And I had only Helmī at home… not bad at all!
Thank you Mārīte and Sandra!
Ilze
P.S. My mom doesn’t like to be in the pictures – neither does Linna! That’s why Nelle has more pictures than Linna 🙂

Love the pictures again. Emailed you earlier about this post so was glad to see it this morning. I didn’t realise that reaching 35 was considered a ‘big date’. Here that is thought to be 40. I’m well past both!

PS. As you know, I love porridge (but uncooked) and the Romanian equivalent meat ball soup ( ciorba de perișoare) is my favourite. You must have heard it innumerable times – Nelle looks so like you.

I have no problem with my age 🙂 never did! But everyone expects you celebrate 30 / 35 / 40 etc. What I’m afraid, that still don’t know what I want to do. I have education, I had a great job – well paid and now I’m the mom of 3…. and don’t want to be in IT anymore. I can do IT easily but it’s not THE THING I’m looking for 🙂 And I have to look for something cause I’ve lost it earlier 🙂

It’s “bittersweet” as we say here in America.

Bittersweet, cause they are growing too fast?! 🙂 Now I know only the sweet part, cause they still “small” and time didn’t fly yet 😀

My brothers and I are surprisingly close even with being super different. I guess I’m lucky!

I’m so proud to manage that. My mom isn’t a big fan of taking grandkids to her house 🙂

And, actually, the grandmother that takes the baby at her home on Friday night until next day is very rear here. Everyone is too tired of working. Also, Janis mother said that she can take girls when they are bigger, starting from 3 year :). I guess I already know what type of grandmother I’ll be. All my panic attacks are from “not getting away from kids for at least 12 hours”… I will take care of my grandchildren to let my girls breath for a while 😉 at least I hope so!

Wonderful post!! I am a grandmother and don’t like to be in the pictures either, but I am beginning to understand how important it is for the grandchildren to have those pictures of themselves with grandma and grandpa. The ones my three girls have with their grandparents are really special. So glad that I found your blog and hope to keep enjoying it for a long time.

Thank you! I wish we had a picture where we all are together, like us, girls, my mom and Janis parents. Somehow in the birthday parties or other celebrations, I’m too busy with everything else… always forgot to take the picture together. And my DSLR camera can’t help there!
